Today’s text finishes out Isaiah 35, Isaiah’s prophecy about future of Zion and the joy of the redeemed. Who could make a road over the mountains of our iniquities but Almighty God? None but the Lord of love would have wished it none but the God of wisdom could have devised it none but the God of power could have carried it out.” ~Charles Spurgeon “Engineering has done much to tunnel mountains, and bridge abysses but the greatest triumph of engineering is that which made a way from sin to holiness, from death to life, from condemnation to perfection. And the ransomed of the Lord will return and come to Zion with shouts of jubilation, and everlasting joy will be upon their heads they will find joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” -AMPLIFIED Nor will any predatory animal come up on it they will not be found there. ![]() The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for those who walk on the way and fools will not wander on it. “A highway will be there, and a roadway and it will be called the Holy Way. They’ll sing as they make their way home to Zion, unfading halos of joy encircling their heads, Welcomed home with gifts of joy and gladness as all sorrows and sighs scurry into the night.” The people God has ransomed will come back on this road. No lions on this road, no dangerous wild animals-Nothing and no one dangerous or threatening. It’s for God’s people exclusively- impossible to get lost on this road. No one rude or rebellious is permitted on this road. “ There will be a highway called the Holy Road. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” They will enter Zion with singing everlasting joy will crown their heads. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast they will not be found there. The unclean will not journey on it wicked fools will not go about on it. “And a highway will be there it will be called the Way of Holiness it will be for those who walk on that Way.
